Procedures - Valencia Port Control S.L.U.

One hour before arrival, the ship will contact Valencia Port Control on VHF working channel (14) and report any defficiencies on board. Valencia Port Control will provide instructions and berthing info.
3 nautical miles before port entrance, ship will contact again in order to confirm inbound permission and request, in due case, tug boats assistance
Pilot Boarding Point is located 2 nm distance SE from the main port entrance green light.
Pilot will board from the pilot ladder that will be rigged 1 m above the water, prior instruction of the side by Valencia Port Control.

One hour before departure, the ship will contact Valencia Port Control on VHF working channel (14).
Pilot should be requested once the ship is completely ready for departure (engine ready, papers on board, all shore staff off the vessel and, in case of departing from a container terminal, all cranes should be located in the center or outside vessel’s length, all gantry crane booms picked up). Passenger vessels should give a call 10 minutes before ship is ready. All ships should report any defficiencies and request, in due case, tug boats assistance. Valencia Port Control will provide info regarding departure.
