Historically, this service had always been provided by the Corporation of Valencia Pilots, who for years, bet on providing a quality service by hiring highly qualified people. The evolution of traffic in the Port of Valencia has been such, that there is a need for a traffic control in which not only the tasks of management, coordination and control of maritime traffic in port waters are performed, but all movements of ships that take place in our area of influence are recorded in real time, and we integrate all the information that comes from different systems and agents involved, being in direct and continuous contact with the Port Authority of Valencia, Harbour Master´s Office, Terminals, Nautical Services (pilots, tugboats and mooring men), Consignees, among others.
All this with a single purpose as VTS (Vessel Traffic Service), and that is to contribute to the safety and efficiency of navigation through:
Providing relevant information
Monitoring and managing maritime traffic
Responding to all kinds of situations (insecurity, emergencies…)
We keep continuous watch of everything that is happening in our area of responsibility.
In addition, we can count on the manoeuvring simulator and VTS for our training (Valencia Pilots simulator), with whom we enjoy a closely collaboration, we are commited towards constant improvement.
